FOREST CLAN
Forest Clan has a secret, one that they keep from the other Clans. Long ago, before the Great War, a young Forest Clan warrior opened the doorway between the Other side and here, unleashing those called Demons amongst the wolves, spreading their poison called Infections. None of the Clans knew this and still, none of the other Clans know that the doorway still exists, guarded heavily by Forest Clan warriors. The veil is thin since their first escape, hence why wolves are continuing to become Infected. But the Forest Wolves keep their silence. It is their Sin and they must suffer alone.
The Forest Clan wolves act much like monk's practicing patience and keeping solitude to better keep themselves clean of Infections. They study the plants around them, desperately searching for cures for Infections. They have found four but it's become increasingly harder to battle against the poisons.
The Forest Clan wolves believe heavily on mating for life. They have strong family bonds and believe that the stronger the love and friendship between pack mates, the less likely they are to become Infected. The pups are not told of the doorway until they are much older for fear of another curious youth opening the doorway and only having a few years of heavy practices in patience and obedience.
But don't think the Forest Wolves are soft and weak. They train effortlessly in case the doorway does open again. They must be there to defend against them just as they did before. If it wasn't for the Forest Clan warriors, the Great War would have wiped out all the Clans.
Souls mean a lot for Forest Clan wolves. The Forest of Souls, has a heavy soul population that they believe are the souls of those lost fighting in the Great War. But they aren't just warriors among the souls. There are also Infected and demons who mean you harm when you walk amongst them. Forest Clan warriors are required to go with a partner or two when entering the forest. Young pups are forbidden from entering.
When a Forest Clan warrior dies, the entire Clan sits vigil over his or her body till the morning so the soul departing isn't lost. In the morning, the closest family members bury them beneath a great sycamore deep within the forest.

PLAINS CLAN
The fields of Anguish have their own terror filled stories to go down in history. They, too, were the very scene of the Great War. Much like the marsh's to their south, the fields themselves were littered with rotting bodies of the fallen, demonic and normal. However, the Plains Clans weren't on the side of the Clans during the Great War. They embrace the curse of the Infections, seeming to rule their lives around it. They are the outcasts of the other two Clans.
The Plains Clan wolves have a sort of obsession with the Infections. The quicker you receive an Infection, the quicker you gain in rank. Mating amongst the Plains Clan is simple; If a male and a female do not have an infection, they are forbidden to mate. One or both parents must have an Infection to raise the chance of the offspring being born with an Infection.
The pups are raised by the whole Clan, not just the parents. They are fed by many mothers till they can eat meat and then are allowed to share a kill from anyone they wish. No mother or father has claim to their pups, they are a part of the Clan, not just a part of you.
The warriors of the Plains Clan are stocky and lean. They have to be able to run the open wide areas of the fields but must be strong to bring down their large prey. Plains Clan warriors are known for randomly attacking each other to toughen themselves up, whether it results in a physical injury or not.
When a warrior of the Plain's Clan dies, the entire Clan must consume a part of that wolf, absorbing the wolf's spirit into their own, mixing the Infections into their genes.

WATER CLAN
There have been many theories how this Clan has survived living in a salt marsh and none of them seem to add up. With the amount of food limited to creatures that have evolved to withstand the amount of salt in the water and lands, it's still a mystery what the Water Clan wolves survive on.
The wolves that live here have long since adapted to their rough life. They are lean and long, perfectly suited for stealth and speed instead of the bulk and strength of their neighbor Clans. They are also short with long legs, perfect for moving within the long marsh grass that the Clan lives in. Pups in the Water Clan are brought up with stories of why Dead Lake is called 'Dead Lake'. Back in the times of the Great War, it was said that the waters and shores of the marsh were littered with gore and corpses of the fallen and the waters ran red with blood. It was years before the waters were cleaned up but the stories are still there, hardening the pups minds before they were brought into the Clan as warriors.
The Water Clan operates much differently than the other Clans. Much like lions, female wolves leave the Clan to give birth to their pups, not even allowing their mates to see them. In a den site known by only the mother, the pups are born and raised buy just their mother until they are six months old. Then they are brought back to the Clan for evaluation and to begin their training. It is the mother's duty to ready her pups before bringing them before the Clan. If they are rejected, the mother must also reject them and the pups are cast from the Clan. Not many survive afterwards. If a mother refuses to reject her pups, she is also Cast from the Clan but not before falling beneath the teeth and claws of her Clan mates.
At six months, if they are accepted into the pack, the pups start training. The Water Clan wolves believe that the Great War isn't over, simply put on hold. With the influx of Infected wolves, they've begun to train themselves, ready for the demonic to descend on them once more.
When pups turn 2 years old, they are assessed and if they pass their tests, they become a full warrior of the Clan and are finally considered an adult and are able to produce pups of their own. Water Clan wolves are not required to take mates. They can mate with more than one male or female. However, females cannot choose the males she breeds with. It is the male's decision and if he chooses to stay with her for life, the female must deal with it.
When a Water Clan warrior dies, it is common for the wolves to lay the body to rest within the marsh waters, to return him or her to their ancestors. It is a great honor to be laid to rest beneath the waters of the marsh. Wolves who didn't gain the respect to be buried in the marsh are simply dragged out to the corners of the marsh to be eaten or to decompose naturally.
